Little by little, the
Central American migrants, most of them Hondurans, are arriving at the border
between the United States and Mexico. At the city of Tijuana, they were greeted
by the local population with slurs and insults.
This break, in a way,
Mexico's tradition of giving refuge to foreigners who flee their countries. It
will be the government’s policy or the internal politics of the authorities,
but Mexicans in large part of them have shown signs of rejection and
xenophobia, especially in social networks and finally shown in Tijuana.
They flee from
violence in their countries and are greeted with violence, apart from shouting
that, rocks have been thrown over their heads. The shelters are not enough, the
food is scarce, the city is not prepared to accommodate them. On the US side,
the border is guarded by the US patrol and elements of the US armed forces
threatening not to let anyone in, by order of President Donald Trump.
But the violence also comes
from both sides, if, indeed, the migrants have been attacked, and violence does
not warn who throws the first stone, also the victims have responded with
violence to their aggressors or to those who wish to help them by not pleasing
them with what it is offered to them in good will.
Given this situation,
the Mexicans, seeing their government provide little or much help to Central
American migrants, they get upset because when they need help, their government
ignores them.
Now, with the arrival
of migrants to the border with the United States, what can you expect, if they
do not give entry permits to those seeking refuge in the US? Only a misfortune.
It is a time bomb that can explode at any time.
And, at any moment
some will try to cross through the big door to request asylum. Others, to try
to cross illegally. And the consequences may well be catastrophic if violence
is started.
