Editorial: Trump is successful in his political trial

Given the acquittal of President Donald Trump, the country is experiencing uncertainty, there is a president who has his way, lying and contradicting himself all the time while much of the American people remain apathetic about that reality.

The country is now sailing between a Trump who, after a manipulated trial, is exonerated and a Democratic Party with dubious primary elections in Iowa.

Trump's possible opponent in November was thought to be Joe Biden, who has been fourth in the Iowa primary. The matter with Ukraine really affected the former vice president, without doubting that it was due to the bad publicity that the impeachment against Trump caused him. In Iowa the first place is disputed between the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg and Senator Bernie Sanders.

Republicans in Congress, instead of serving the American people, decided to protect how they gave Donald Trump. They will be remembered as the most cowardly and corrupt in the history of our nation.

History will know how to judge them, for turning their backs on the American people. Now is the time not to re-elect Trump. The people must decide at the polls if they want the president to govern with the same style for four years or elect the nominee of the Democratic Party and thus be able to free us from one of the most racist and xenophobic leaders of the 21st century.
