President Trump delivered the annual State of the Union address on February 4 before members of Congress and invited guests.
Trump set out several of his administration’s accomplishments, including countering the terrorism of the Iranian regime, defeating ISIS and creating a historic peace plan for the Israelis and the Palestinians.
Trump reaffirmed U.S. support for democracy in the Western Hemisphere and praised the Venezuelan people and their legitimate interim president, Juan Guaidó, who attended the address.
Trump also celebrated his recent successes on trade deals, such as the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement and Phase One of the trade agreement with China, which are designed to create “fair and reciprocal trade.”
Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo commented on the president’s speech, saying, “President Trump continues to lead an American foreign policy that bolsters our security and prosperity, strengthens our alliances and partnerships, and protects our precious freedoms.”
